Walmart Visits Kapi`olani for Annual Campaign Kick Off

Walmart is preparing for their annual fundraising campaign to benefit Kapiolani Children’s Miracle Network. The campaign will run Monday, August 27 thru Sunday, September 30th.

Walmart Region 49 Manager, Steven Reed, and Market 470 Manager, Lance McAlister, were joined by Hawaii Walmart store managers and associates at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children. Attendees at the Kick Off toured the hospital, visited with Kayle Osai, Hawaii’s 2018 Champion, and his mom Melissa, and met with Kapiolani CMN Director, Colette Forcier. Lance McAlister and Steven Reed were recognized nationally by CMN Hospitals’ CEO, John Lauck, and Walmart representatives and presented with a 30th anniversary plaque. At the Kick Off, each store was recognized for their 2017 fundraising with a banner they can display in their building.  Walmart has set a goal to break their previous fundraising records this year and help even more keiki!  Help them help kids by making a donation at your local Walmart August 27-September 30.

Walmart has a basic belief – that every child deserves the chance to live better. That’s why the company has supported Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals for 30 years – raising more than $930 million in the U.S. and Canada for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in the process. In 1987, the man affectionately known to the CMN Hospitals  team as “Mr. Sam,” Sam Walton, committed his company and its resources to raising money for children’s hospitals with the promise that “the associates will amaze you.”
