Shane Victorino played golf to change kids’ health during the 2021 Ace Shootout

On Tuesday, November 9, tune in to watch Shane Victorino go head-to-head with fellow athletes and entertainers in a series of golf challenges as they raise critical funds needed for Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children, a member hospital of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Haumea, Kapi’olani Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion, is excited for this year’s Ace Shootout, because she knows the benefit from donations given to local children’s hospitals first-hand. When she was born, her parents were told that Haumea had a birth defect called proximal femoral focal deficiency (PFFD), which is an uncommon condition that caused one leg to be shorter than the other.

Thanks to the team at Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children, Haumea’s local children’s hospital, she was able to go through more than 10 surgeries and be fit her for a prosthetic leg she has affectionately named ‘Sparkle.’ Haumea’s positivity and unstoppable attitude shows everyone around her why she’s a true champion. Just like the players who are championing to change kids’ health during this year’s Ace Shootout.

We asked Shane Victorino about his chance to play in the Ace Shootout benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

“Being here, it’s in my own backyard. Getting an opportunity to raise money in this beautiful place with money staying here and being here helping a local charity. I’m definitely 100% in every time they ask!”

Children are at the center of everything we do, and a strong foundation for their tomorrow needs to start today. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals see what the future can be, and with support from Ace Hardware and their vendor partners, we can ensure that it becomes a reality.

Will Shane Victorino win the 2021 Ace Shootout? Tune in to find out on November 9 on Golf Channel. When you change kids’ health, you change the future – for all of us.
