Miss Hawaii’s February 2019 Recap!

This post was submitted by Penelope Ng Pack, Miss Hawaii 2018 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through

I hope your month of February was as filled with aloha, “love” in Hawaiian, as mine was.

Because I LOVE my job. From traveling to Seattle with Ben Bridge Jewelers to celebrate the Lunar New Year, to having Breakfast with the Bishop, promoting #DollarsforDonuts with Purvé Donut Stop & Ronald McDonald House Charities, going on TV to recruit golfers for our upcoming Miss Hawaii Golf Tournament on 3/22, and celebrating Dr. Seuss Day and all things literacy — I truly have the best job in the entire world.

This was also a Children’s Miracle Network (CMN)-filled month!

Pancake Day at Kapiolani Medical Center

Winnie and I “shared” some pancakes at Kapiolani Medical Center’s (KMC) Pancake Day — a preview of IHOP National Pancake Day on March 12! KMC executives became executive chefs for the morning: flipping pancakes for staff and patients for donations to CMN. All donations benefit Hawaii’s only CMN: KMC!

Join the Miss America organization nationwide on Tuesday, 3/12 at any IHOP restaurant, make a donation to CMN, and enjoy a free short stack of delicious pancakes!

The Miss Hawaii 2019 Candidates have also been hard at work fundraising for CMN in their local communities.

Miss Chinatown Hawaii 2019 Brooke Lynne Alcuran’s Panda Express Lunar New Year fundraiser on 2/3

Miss Chinese Jaycees 2019 Danicia Honda’s Zumbathon on 2/24

Miss Kona Coffee 2019 Ruby Simone Jordan & Miss Aloha Hawai’i 2019 Noe Balanay’s bake sale on 2/16

Miss Latina Hawaii 2019 Noe Baladad, Miss Aloha Latina 2019 Tani De La Torre, & Miss Paradise Latina 2019 Aleksya Batoon’s Zumbathon on 3/2

These ladies are doing an amazing job of going out into their communities to spread awareness of and raise funds for CMN. Thank you, ladies, for your dedication and passion to serve your communities #forthekids!
