Miss Hawai’i August Recap
Aloha!
I can’t believe it has already been 2 months as your Miss Hawaii 2019! The saying is true–time flies when you are having fun. Here is a recap on what I have been up to this past month.
KSSK- Interview on KSSK with Perry and the Posse. We talked about the Miss Hawaii competition, my social impact initiative S.N.A.P. (Service Nurtures All People), and this upcoming year. I even had the opportunity to perform the piano in front of their live audience!
MAOTeen- Flew over to Orlando to support Makaila our Miss Hawaii’s Outstanding Teen. Makaila represented our state so well– she is a beautiful dancer and has the kindest heart. You can follow along with her year at @maoteenhi. I also found out that…. MISS AMERICA will be on December 19th in Connecticut at the Mohegan Sun! I am so excited and grateful to have the opportunity to represent Hawaii at Miss America!
HI NOW- Starred as guest co-host with Kanoe Gibson on the HI Now Daily segment. Kanoe Gibson was Miss Hawaii 2003 and 1st-runner up to Miss America 2004. So much fun to reunite with my Miss Hawaii sister!
Ace Bucket Days- Went on a Mahalo tour to the Ace Hardware stores in Wahiawa, Haleiwa, and Laie. It was a pleasure to personally thank the mangers and employees for helping raise money for Kapi’olani Medical Center during their Ace Bucket Days. Thank you to all of our corporate sponsors and all that they do for the CMN Hospitals!
KSSK Kapi’olani Radiothon or Kids- This was the highlight of my month! I spent the day at the Kapi’olani Medical Center’s Annual Radiothon. My day included answering phones, coloring with some amazing kids, and supporting this great event. Hearing the stories of miracle kids and their families really shows how CMN Hospitals make miracles happen.
SNAP Assembly- Welcomed Waikele Elementary School into the new school year! Spoke about my social impact statement S.N.A.P. and explained to the students the importance of service and ways that they could serve at school. They are ready to #SNAPintoAction!
