When Kim Virtudazo was 18 weeks pregnant Logan was diagnosed with a cleft lip. Kapi‘olani’s team of specialists including Dr. Lynn Iwamoto from the Cleft and Craniofacial Clinic prepared the soon to be parents.

When Logan was born the team discovered he had more than only a cleft lip, but he also had a cleft palate that would require many surgeries beyond the cosmetic issues. Logan had three surgeries before he was seven years old. His most recent surgery required a bone graft from his hipbone with extensive follow-up care and a special diet.
